Former World No. 135 Alize Lim dreamed that she was drawn to playing Roger Federer in the first round of the French Open, but due to COVID-19 they had to stay home and play in front of her TV. Lim also revealed that she lost the match in her dream while she kept turning the ball and taking shots into the air.

Lim is a big fan of Federer, since she in the past she posted a couple of selfies with the Swiss on her social media. “I had a dream that I had to play @rogerfederer in the first round of Roland Garros, but because of Covid we had to stay home and play in front of our television.

I kept swinging but losing the ball and making aerial shots. I was so sad it couldn’t be a real match due to Covid as well, “Lim tweeted. Federer ended his season in August to undergo knee surgery. Fernando González, who lost to Federer in the 2007 Australian Open final, is curious to see what will happen to the Swiss in 2022.

“Being without competition for several months last year was tough and now this year, there are still travel problems.” González said exclusively to Tennis365. “Hopefully we can start next year and have a more normal tennis year because a lot of exciting things are happening in our sport.

We are waiting to see if Roger can come back, what happens with Rafa and you see Daniil Medvedev winning his first major.”

Becker praises Roger Federer

During the inauguration of his new tennis academy, six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker hailed Roger Federer as a “legend” of the sport.

However, he also suggested that the Swiss may find it hard to win matches and tournaments consistently following such a lengthy layoff. “It goes without saying that I would like him to play tennis again. He is an absolute legend of sport and tennis.

I would also like to see him win but the reality is that the more you are absent, the more difficult it is to come back,” Becker was quoted as saying. The world saw Roger Federer last, all the way back in Wimbledon in July 2021.

The Swiss maestro has had his knee operated on twice now- no doubt a toll that years of playing phenomenal tennis took on him. However, he still continues to be a part of tennis conversations almost every day. World No. 13 Diego Schwartzman talked about ‘His Majesty’ today.

He revealed that he has always been a fan of Roger Federer. Furthermore, he expressed a particular desire regarding seeing Federer on the court. “I hope that he keeps coming back once a year,” the Argentinian admitted.
