ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– A Schenectady man was charged with felony gun and drug possession charges after a traffic stop on Central Avenue in Albany Tuesday night. 47-year-old Tavio Fredericks was arrested by the Albany County Sheriff’s Department on multiple charges, after allegedly running away from deputies.
Around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies conducted a traffic stop for a violation, near Central Avenue and Rawson Street. Deputies said the driver, identified as Fredericks, ran from deputies but was quickly caught and searched.
Upon the search, deputies reported finding a loaded North American Arms .22 caliber revolver as well as 97 grams of cocaine on him. He also allegedly had a quantity of fentanyl on him, which officers determined to be intended for sharing.

Fredericks was charged with:
- Second-Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon
- Third-Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon
- Two counts of Third-Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Second-Degree Obstructing Governmental Administration
- Traffic Violations
According to deputies, Fredericks was held pending arraignment. He is excepted in Albany City Criminal Court Wednesday.
