A major WWE comeback may be on the horizon as rumors swirl about the potential return of Alexa Bliss at the 2025 Royal Rumble. Bliss, absent from WWE programming since her Raw Women’s Championship match loss to Bianca Belair at the Rumble in 2023, has reportedly been the subject of significant creative discussions within the company. The question seems to filter around how and where to use her.
Is Alexa Bliss Coming Back For Road To WrestleMania?
In an update per PWInsider‘s Mike Johnson, WWE’s creative team is actively exploring scenarios for Bliss’ return, with insiders suggesting her comeback is likely to occur during WrestleMania season. The Royal Rumble, set for February 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, is believed to be the time and place WWE could be targeting. That timeframe would be ideal for her high-profile return.
Bliss, 33, has been on hiatus following her first pregnancy, welcoming a daughter with her husband Ryan Cabrera in November 2023. While Bliss has kept details of her WWE return under wraps, she recently confirmed to fans on Instagram that she plans to come back: “Yes—I will be returning. But for now, please enjoy my current content.” She also talked about several health issues that had delayed her comeback.
A return at the Royal Rumble would mark a nearly two-year absence for Bliss. If WWE plans for Bliss to have a prominent role at WrestleMania 41 in April, that event and match would be the perfect time to reintroduce her. A surprise return in the women’s Rumble match could make for a huge ovation from the crowd and give her the momentum she needs in the lead-up to WWE’s biggest event of the year.

Alexa Bliss Reveals Multiple Reasons For Her Lengthy WWE Absence
Alexa Bliss responded to a fan on social media revealing several reasons why she’s been away from WWE for so long.
Despite the fact she’s been gone for nearly two years, Bliss remains one of the company’s most popular and talked about female Superstars. She’s played several characters, sold more merchandise than many of her male counterparts, and been part of some of WWE’s biggest storylines. Her resume includes three Raw Women’s Championships, two SmackDown Women’s Championships, and three WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Speculation surrounding her character upon return is already ramping up. Bliss previously worked alongside the late Bray Wyatt in a storyline and the character was a must-watch, even if polarizing among the fanbase. She could easily return aligned with the Wyatt Six faction, though no official details have surfaced. They also have Nikki Cross so it’s not evident they need a second female star.
