NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The Flood Watch that hovered over much of our area since Wednesday has expired, but know the western portion of Louisiana continues to see it until Saturday evening.

Overall, Friday evening will be quiet unless you live along the coast which has the chance to see some lingering showers.

Even though we will have a fairly drier weekend, both Saturday and Sunday do still have the chance to see some showers and thunderstorms.
Here’s FUTURECAST showing a few specific times to help you further make plans:




Most of the showers and storms will stay along the coast until we get into the afternoon when they will move up into our northern parishes and Mississippi counties.

You may run into brief storms as you head to Smoothie King Center as doors open at 4 p.m., but we will have clear skies by the time the event lets out so enjoy a night out on the take.
Side note: If you plan on heading out to any of the Alabama or Florida beaches this weekend, there will be a MODERATE risk for rip currents:
