Madison County has been asked by the NYS Office of General Services to provide an ornament that has a connection or embodies a feature/attraction of our region for the 2023 New York State Capitol holiday tree. The holiday tree in the Governor’s Reception Room will feature a submitted ornament from each of New York’s 62 Counties. That is why Madison County is asking our residents to submit a custom-made or existing ornament that reflects our history and beauty by September 25, 2023.
All ornament submissions will be voted on by a committee of Madison County employees. The winning ornament that the committee feels best represents Madison County will be featured on the holiday tree in the Governor’s Reception Room this holiday season. All other submissions will be proudly displayed on the holiday tree in the atrium of the Madison County Office Building in Wampsville, NY. Members of the public can view the ornaments on display beginning November 27 and until December 29, 2023.
The ornaments can be either custom-made or existing products, may be of any medium, but must follow these guidelines:
- Three Dimensional
- Between 3 to 10 inches in diameter
- Weigh no more than 5 ounces
- Be tree ready with hanging hardware attached (Madison County will be placing labels on each ornament with name of submitter and where they are from.)
