In a week where racism has once again reared its head within the NFL, Colin Kaepernick has reiterated his commitment to an NFL comeback, suggesting that he is still waking up at 5am every morning and preparing to take a team to the Super Bowl, a feat that he already achieved with San Francisco.

Kaepernick hasn’t played a professional football game in five years and has claimed he has been black-balled by the league, although in the wake of Jon Gruden‘s race scandal, it’s clear that there are some rather unsavoury views amongst the higher-ups in the league.

“Absolutely, I’m still up at 5am, training five or six days a week making sure I’m prepared to take a team to the Super Bowl again,” Kaepernick detailed in an interview with Ebony.

“That’s not something I will ever let go of, regardless of the actions of 32 teams and their partners to deny me employment.

“The same way I was persistent in high school is the same way I’m gonna be persistent here, and you’re gonna have to continue to deny me and do so in a public way, and you’re gonna expose yourself by that, but it won’t be because I’m not ready or prepared.”
