City of Gallup warns of zoning map amendment fee scam

GRANTS, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Gallup is warning of a scam claiming there is an application approval fee for zoning map amendments. The city said it will never ask for payment for zoning or permit fees by email with an attachment asking for immediate payment. Official payments are made through city channels.

Anyone who has received an email is requested to report it to the Federal Trade Commission and delete the email immediately. If you’re unsure whether any email is legitimate, you can call the City of Gallup to verify.
