After an emotional, upset victory over the Buffalo Bills in Week 6 on “Monday Night Football,” the Tennessee Titans now turn their attention to yet another elite team in Week 7, the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs are off to an uncharacteristic start this season for a few reasons. For starters, they are 3-3, which is the worst six-game start any Chiefs team has experienced in the Patrick Mahomes era.

Adding to that, Mahomes has been turnover-prone, with nine giveaways over the first six games, including eight interceptions that are four fewer than his career-high (12 in 2018).

Kansas City has also seen struggles on defense, with bottom-10 rankings in total yards, passing yards, rushing yards and points allowed per game.

Of course, the Titans have seen their own issues and are dealing with a slew of injuries ahead of this game, making an already tough opponent even more difficult.

Despite where these two teams are, and with the Titans having beaten the same Bills team that manhandled the Chiefs in Week 5, Las Vegas has the Chiefs favored by 5.5 points, per Tipico Sportsbook.

Pete Prisco – Chiefs 37, Titans 30: “The Titans impressed with their home victory over the Bills on Monday night, but now face another tough challenge in Patrick Mahomes. With all the injuries in the secondary for the Titans, Mahomes should have a big game. The Chiefs defense was better last week, but that’s not saying a lot. Look for a lot of points in this game. But the Chiefs will find a way.”

Sporting News’ Week 7 picks

Vinnie Iyer – Chiefs 31, Titans 27: “The Chiefs’ offense cleaned up those big mistakes and went big play all over Washington in the second half of last week’s game, with Patrick Mahomes finding perfect harmony between Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Mecole Hardman and the running game. The Titans are coming off having their hands full against the Bills on a short week but they can have much more success running with Derrick Henry this week, therefore opening up the passing game well for Ryan Tannehill. Mahomes outduels Tannehill, but the latter plays well enough to tighten up the margin by the end.”

Bill Bender – Chiefs 34, Titans 29: “The Titans have a short week before welcoming the Chiefs, who despite concerns still rank in the top five in yardage and points. Both teams allow too much in the passing game, so Patrick Mahomes and Ryan Tannehill should put up big numbers.”
