Arsenal handed boost as key player confirmed to have travelled ahead of Leicester clash

Arsenal travel to the King Power

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal kick off the latest round of Premier League fixtures with a trip to Leicester City on Saturday lunchtime.

A win for the Gunners would take them fifth ahead of other teams’ results, while a loss could see them end the weekend as low as 12th place in the Premier League.

Arsenal’s victory in the Carabao Cup fourth round over Leeds United made it 8 unbeaten in all competitions for the Gunners, after three losses on the bounce had briefly condemned them to the foot of the table.

Can they take a much-needed step up against Brendan Rodger’s side this afternoon?

Tierney out but key defender in

As per Football.LDN’s Arsenal correspondent Kaya Kaynak, the Gunners have been dealt mixed news on the injury front. Kieran Tierney has been unable to shake off the bruised left ankle that has seen him absent since their 2-2 draw to Crystal Palace, meaning that Nuno Tavares, who impressed last time out, is likely to continue.

In much more positive news, however, it appears as though Ben White has shaken off the illness that saw him substituted at half-time against Leeds United.

However, it appears that he has travelled for his side’s mammoth midlands clash, and Arsenal fans will be hoping to see him fit enough to start after spotting him in training yesterday.

Will his addition prove decisive as Arsenal look to tame the Foxes this afternoon?
