FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The United States Customs and Border Protection will host a two-day Global Entry enrollment event at Fort Smith Regional Airport on Sept. 8-9.
According to a press release from the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce, the event is exclusively for people who have received conditional approval and are ready to complete the interview portion of the Global Entry application process.
The release says appointments are required.
Applicants can schedule the interview by logging into their Trusted Traveler Portal account and selecting Fort Smith (NOLA/Fort Smith Regional Airport) as the enrollment location.
The event will take place in the airport terminal restaurant, located next to the TSA checkpoint. Attendees may park in the airport lot. The first 30 minutes are free.
Global Entry is a program under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that provides expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the country. Members also receive the added benefit of TSA PreCheck eligibility.
According to the release, to participate, applicants must complete an online application, pay a non-refundable fee, and pass a background check conducted by CBP. Once approved, they may schedule an interview during the special enrollment event at the airport.
